This illustration was commissioned by the Yarra Ranges Council to reflect what social and emotional wellbeing means to the Upper Yarra community:
Social and emotional wellbeing is about children and families feeling safe, connected, and empowered to understand and express their emotions. It supports children to build resilience, feel confident in themselves, and form strong relationships. Social and emotional wellbeing grows when families feel a sense of belonging, are welcomed and heard in their communities, and have access to the right supports to enable them to be happy and thrive.
The illustration can be broken down into nine individual modules, each reflecting an important theme, such as Education, Sports and Recreation, Families and Children's Services, etc.
